Experience Nova Scotia Travel Nursing Program is designed for Registered Nurses (RN) to help take their career further. Through this program, you will enhance your skills and gain greater clinical expertise - opening doors to employment opportunity in Ontario.

We are offering contract options of 9 and 12 months to gain required acute healthcare experience in the Halifax, Nova Scotia area.  We will guide you along the application process for licensure through the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia (CRNNS) to ensure you are registered and ready to work. And don’t worry about the travel expense, we have that covered!

During the assignment, you will receive…

The Registered Nurse, establishes, monitors and delivers nursing care to clients as directed by the nursing care plan and in accordance with all required internal and external professional practice standards. As required, s/he provides support and direction to Licensed Practical Nurses and unlicensed staff involved in direct client care.

 Hours of Work:

  • Will be scheduled to work 144 hours a month
  • Able to be scheduled for assignments that are considered “urgent/last minute/early morning” (e.g. called for assignments within 2 hours or from start of shift)
  • Flexible to work all shifts (Days, Evenings and Nights), including weekdays, weekends and statutory holidays 


  • Current registration and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Nova Scotia (CRNNS)
  • Proof of current immunization for measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (MMVR)
  • Proof of negative TB skin test within the past one (1) year or negative chest x-ray within the past five (5) years
  • Proof of current CPR (BCLS-HCP) for Healthcare Providers.
  • Proof of N95 Mask Fit Test Certificate with a date of issue in the last two years

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Arrange and/or provide client care by utilizing the skills of observation assessment, nursing diagnosis, counseling;
  • Develop and review nursing care plans that are individualized to each client
  • Observe and document client conditions
  • Receive and transcribe physician’s orders
  • Understands and implements infection prevention practices
  • Maintains confidentiality of client information and care
  • Must be willing to undergo Police Background Check
