Damilola Akinsuyi
Healthcare Staff Supervisor
Damilola moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia from Toronto, Ontario in 2019 as part of the travel nursing program offered by Carecor. She has worked as a travel nurse in ER, acute medical, and surgical units in different regions within Nova Scotia. Damilola joined the administrative team as a healthcare staff supervisor in 2022. Coming with years of experience working in the field; she is elated to now be supporting staff working on various units in different healthcare facilities. With her vast experience in working with people from all corners of the world, Damilola liaised with different interdisciplinary teams at different facilities for better management of patients’ care plans and with that, has been able to expand her knowledge and skills.
Damilola is so passionate about the art of nursing and about bringing change within healthcare that with this advancement in her nursing career, she is eager to keep learning and growing so as to be able to provide the best support for our field staff. Understanding what it’s like to be front and center of it all, she wants to impact this generation and the next generation of nurses with the knowledge she has attained throughout her nursing journey. She is dedicated to being a sounding board, a mentor, and most of all having conversations around updating policies to improve the quality of care both the patients and the caregivers receive.
When Damilola is not nursing, you can find her traveling, reading, watching the latest TV shows/movies, dancing, rock climbing, hiking, or simply just spending time in nature.
